Guwahati: Assam Prime Minister Himanta Biswa Salma will embark on a two-day trip to Singapore to promote the state’s industry potential and attract investment in the cutting-edge technology sector.
The visit is part of Assam’s broader strategy to strengthen the industrial footprint ahead of the Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit advantage later this month.
“I will start two days starting tomorrow to promote Assam’s advantage and highlight the state’s growth potential in key sectors such as semiconductors, deep technology, infrastructure and manufacturing,” Sarma said in a statement. It was announced in.
The visit will be just before the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, set for February 25-26.
The Assam government has ambitious plans for the state, including its goal of generating 3,000 MW of renewable energy by 2030.
Over the past few weeks, Sarma has held strategic meetings with leaders from the top industry.
During his visit to Mumbai, he worked with JSW Group Chairman Sajang Jindal, World President Wellspan BK Goenka, and Essar Group Vice President Rabbi Ruia.
These discussions focus on investment opportunities in multiple sectors, from infrastructure development to electric vehicle manufacturing.
“We will also be holding roadshows and holding one-on-one meetings with industry leaders during our visit to Singapore to explore potential collaborations and investment avenues,” Salma said.

He emphasized his vision to position Assam as “an emerging hub for advanced industries and innovation.”
Additionally, the Assam government has launched Assam’s startup and innovation policy. It aims to support the creation of 5,000 startups over the next five years and create 100,000 jobs.
The initiative is in line with the state’s ongoing efforts to attract investment in green energy, including projects focused on floating solar energy, bioCNG, green hydrogen and ATJ fuels.
Wellspan World has expressed interest in diversifying Assam’s textile, energy and water treatment projects, but Essar Group is considering the production of electric trucks in the region and pursuit of renewable energy projects .
