On Sunday (February 9, 2025), he wrote an open letter to the Army Secretary Asim Munier, who imprisoned Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. There, he criticised the military’s illegal behavior and political involvement, urging them to “return to constitutional limits.”

In a letter posted to X, the founder of Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) alleged abuse in prison.

Khan has been jailed at Adiara Prison Rawalpindi for over a year.
This followed his first letter on February 3, which urged the military to consider an approach to national security and governance.
After the initial letter, security sources said it had not been received by the military and rejected a report in the media about its existence. They argued that the establishment had no interest in receiving such letters.
In his latest letter, Khan said, “My (first) letter was rejected and irresponsible,” and “his concerns are purely the reputation of our military and the military and the masses. It added that it is for the dangerous consequences of the expansion bay between. This is why I wrote this letter.”
He highlighted six points that deepened the cracks between people and the army.
These points include manipulation of election results through advance pole rigging organized by intelligence agencies, mandatory passing of the 26th Constitutional amendment of Parliament at the muzzle to control the judiciary and appoint selected judges. , and includes the imposing of legislative imposing of Draconia, such as corrections. PECA (Electronic Crime Prevention Act) silences objections.
Khan pointed out that political instability and “power-right” policies have caused the country’s economy to be disrupted. Khan regretted that the country’s “large political parties” had been targeted and that all state agencies were used for political engineering and revenge.
He said if a national referendum was held on six points, which emphasized, “I think 90% of Pakistanis would support them.” He said these alleged actions not only hurt public sentiment, but also exacerbate the rift between people and the military.
“It is essential to bridge the growing gap between the military and the masses for Pakistan’s stability and security,” he wrote in the letter.
“The only way to achieve this is for the military to return to constitutional limits, move away from politics and fulfill its designated responsibilities,” he said.
The letter comes after several leaders of Khan’s party were arrested on Saturday. This is because they held a rally marking “Black Day” on February 8th regarding the collusion in last year’s general election.
“The Army is a key facility in the country, and within it several black sheep are causing serious damage to its reputation,” Khan said.
Khan also accused the soldiers stationed at Adiara prison of adjusting harassment and violations of rights against him.
“This officer ignores the court’s orders and acts like the power of “occupying,” he argued.
Khan claimed he was completely isolated for 20 days in dark cells that had no access to sunlight. Electricity to his cell phone was cut off for five days, leaving him in the darkness, his exercise equipment, television and even newspapers were confiscated, and access to books was voluntarily restricted.
He allegedly allowed only three calls with his sons at six months, despite further court orders being granted. A PTI worker traveling from a distant area was denied a meeting with him.
He also accused authorities of violating court orders by refusing to meet with his wife, Bushla Vivi.
He argued that four beliefs about him were politically motivated and that the judge was forced to issue a pre-determined verdict.
Khan said one judge was said to have suffered from severe stress-related health issues due to the pressure of the ruling against him, and that the PTI was targeted through pre-pole rigging and forced election results.
Khan is said to have cruelly cracked down on peaceful PTI supporters on May 9, 2023 and November 26, 2024.
“Ammunition that lived by peaceful citizens has been fired. In the guise of political retaliation, raids have been carried out on the homes of hundreds of thousands of civilians over the past three years. More than 20,000 workers and supporters was arrested, hundreds of people were accused and tortured,” Khan claimed.
“Thousands of innocent people have been jailed for months on false charges. Pressure from the intelligence reporting agency has led to more than 2,000 workers, supporters and party leaders being brought to court in the High Court. “The bail petition has been delayed indefinitely by the officials,” he added.
He said he was deeply concerned about the treatment of female supporters of PTI over the past three years. “No female politicians have ever been targeted in this way in Pakistani history,” he said.
“This is contrary to our tradition and has encouraged an increase in responsiveness to the military. If corrective actions are not taken immediately, the outcomes of both the military and the state could be irreversible.” he warned.
Khan warned that ongoing actions against the PTI have deepened public responsiveness to the military. He argued that several individuals within the agency were harming their reputation and causing permanent damage.
“Our soldiers are making sacrifices for Pakistan and it is essential that the country stands behind the military for its success in the war against terrorism,” writes Khan.
“However, I am deeply concerned that public responsibilities to the military are continuing to increase due to facility policies and illegal actions. This is a violation of the military oath. Thus, our country is in its own country. “There is no citizen who treats citizens of the country,” he argued.
If corrective actions are not taken, widening disparities between the military and the public will become dangerous fault lines from a national security standpoint.
