Deepseek gets the first

EUROCONSUMERS, an union of European consumer groups, has submitted complaints about how to handle personal data in accordance with general data protection rules in cooperation with the Italian Data Protection Bureau (DPA). Deepseek has been scrutinized. (GDPR). This is one of the first major actions from Watchdogs since DeepSeek has recently attracted a lot of attention.
Italian DPA is written in DeepSeek and demands more information about this problem. Authorities emphasized that “millions of Italian data are in danger,” and gave DeepSeek for 20 days.

Concerns about DeepSeek raised by Italy DPA

Italian DPA requested that Hangzhou DeepSeek, which provides the Deepseek Chatbot service, to confirm which personal data is collected, which source is collected and what purpose.
The company states that the transfer of data to China has been implemented “in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Law.” Along with the Italian DPA, the euro consumer wants more transparency. In addition, Italian DPA requires clarification of servers in China.
“The authorities have asked the two companies and their affiliates to check which personal data will be collected, taking into account the potential risks of the data of millions of people in Italy. And whether it is stored on a server in China (translation from Italian), the official news agency reads.
“The guarantor also users who are not registered in the user’s registered method and service if the guarantor is used in the training of artificial intelligence systems, and if personal data is collected through a web scraping activity. What kind of information did you ask for?

DeepSeek has a 20 -day response

The official press release of the Italian DPA on January 28, 2025 said, “We must provide the required information to authorities within 20 days.”
