Davos/New Delhi:
One of the most exciting sectors in India is civil aviation. Just a few years ago, Indian consumers had few options, but now, with several major airlines in operation and aggressive government policies, the Indian aviation industry has grown to include some of the world’s largest carriers. It has become one.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, told NDTV that India is currently the third largest domestic civil aviation market and the government has moved to number one. He said he believes he can do it.
“The growth rate in the civil aviation sector is between 10% and 15%, and one of the priority areas for us is building hubs,” he said.
On whether Indian airlines ordering a record number of aircraft could pose a major challenge for the government to build matching infrastructure, Naidu said everything is geared towards growth in the sector. He said that it is already in place.
“Speaking of infrastructure, we have been building our infrastructure over the years. In the last 10 years, we have grown from 74 airports to 159 airports. So airlines now have to catch up. “The demand is there, the infrastructure is there, and even the existing airport there has expanded its capacity because we believe that the traffic will increase more and more in the coming days.” the minister said.
He said the government is encouraging aircraft manufacturers to place orders early because the demand is already there. “What we need is more aircraft coming to meet the demand to provide more connectivity and affordability.”
Mr Naidu said the pace of training for aviation professionals such as pilots and flight attendants, who need to grow at the same pace as the airline industry, was well-trained to ensure that the 2,000-odd aviation industry staff are available. He said that Aircraft orders from India arrive.

Mr. Naidu said that while it was a very difficult time with airlines receiving a large number of bomb threat reports, he explained how the entire civil aviation team of the Ministry of Home Affairs, especially the investigative agencies, was working to contain the situation at airlines. He praised the cooperation. The earliest.
“For our part, we have amended aircraft security regulations and introduced a no-fly list for perpetrators attempting this type of activity. The threats were all hoax calls,” he said, adding that the investigation was thorough. He added that The process is still ongoing.
“In a few cases, we were able to nab the culprits. It was thought to be more of a prank. So a child from Chhattisgarh was caught in Maharashtra. And the other incident that happened in Delhi also happened there.”It seemed like he was having some trouble with a friend who was traveling by plane,” Naidu said.
The five-day meeting in Davos, which began on Monday, will consider ways to restart growth, harness new technologies and strengthen social and economic resilience, the World Economic Forum said. The global conference is attended by nearly 3,000 leaders, including 350 government leaders from more than 130 countries.
India’s participation in Davos is aimed at strengthening partnerships, attracting investment and positioning the country as a global leader in sustainable development and innovation. This time, India sent five Union ministers, three state chief ministers, and ministers from several other states to the WEF.
