UFC president Dana White is no ordinary CEO. The 55-year-old brawl promoter has made a name for himself as one of the most uncompromising business executives in modern history. From his refusal to let people go during the pandemic to his penchant for shutting down trolls on social media, White’s unflinching approach to business has garnered him quite a following.

One such follower is UFC commentator Jon Anik, who recently posted about White in regards to his much-talked-about bid for the Boston Celtics franchise. As it turns out, John Henry and his Fenway Group did not sign up for a powerhouse NBA team, and this rumor was proven to be false.

@BallUpToBrad posted about this on X with a celebratory clip featuring Joe Rogan and friends.

Annick reposted the video with the following caption:

“Hahaha. Thank God! My dream is for a group led by Dana White to buy the Boston Celtics. Believe me.”

Dana White claims UFC 311 gate revenue increased even after last-minute main event change

It’s safe to say the week leading up to UFC 311, the first pay-per-view of the year, was a whirlwind for Dana White. Unfortunately, the much-anticipated main event title rematch between Arman Tsarukyan and Islam was cut short after challenger Tsarukyan withdrew due to injury.

To make matters worse, the withdrawal came just hours before the weigh-in, giving White and the UFC just over a day to find a replacement. Enter fan favorite Renato Moicano, who was scheduled to face Beneil Darish on the main card of the night. “Money Moicano” accepted a five-round title fight against today’s best pound-for-pound fighter in the world on just one day’s notice.

With all the marketing and hype the UFC had amassed for Makhachev vs. Tsarukyan coming to nothing, fans were worried that the star power of the main event would be diminished. This was not the case when White read the gate revenue for the night, which was surprisingly higher than expected.

“Here’s the crazy part. The gate budget is $7.5 million. When the fight breaks down, we’re in 9.5. The fight breaks down, we trade it up and we end up in 10.2. .”

Moicano has struggled in the UFC’s lightweight division since rebranding himself as Money Moicano, and his honest and no-nonsense personality has endeared him to fans. With his bold move to challenge for a same-day title fight, it’s no surprise that more people are interested in watching UFC 311 live.
