The win extends his undefeated streak to 11, with his last four wins coming against former UFC champions.
Nurmagomedov is a protégé of his cousin, former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Umar Nurmagomedov will try to represent his family by taking the belt from Dvalishvili. He earned a title shot with a win over Cory Sandhagen last August, improving his UFC record to 6-0 since making his promotional debut in January 2021.
