5 useful technologies from CES 2025 to help your business this year
The Consumer Electronics Show attracts tens of thousands of visitors and attracts worldwide attention as it showcases technology products that can (or will) improve our daily lives. CES 2025 was no exception. But this year’s show wasn’t just about promoting consumer products. There were many services that businesses of all sizes could take advantage of to increase productivity and profits. Here are five things that caught my eye.
battery toaster
swipit phone case
Use case: Increase productivity for employees on the go
It looks similar to a toaster, but instead of toasting bread, it reheats the battery. They are saved on the device 5 at a time. So when employees need a new batter, they can simply change it out in seconds and get to work right away. It’s fast, so you don’t have to remember to recharge or bring along a portable battery pack. However, there are also drawbacks. Mobile phones require a case, which makes them look unsightly and increases cost. Approximately $450 can be expensive.
It’s not quite time for prime time, but keep an eye out for paper batteries like the one unveiled at CES by a company called Flint. According to CNET, “They are completely flexible and can be shrunk to the size of a coin cell or embedded in a smartwatch strap.” Flint’s paper batteries differ in construction from traditional lithium-ion batteries. They share, but the similarities end there. Its main component is cellulose, which acts as a natural medium for the transfer of ions between the anode and cathode, a critical chemical exchange necessary for the battery to function. ”
laptop that can be rolled up
Lenovo ThinkBook Plus 6th generation
Use case: Eliminate multiple monitors
Many people use dual monitors at work. But is there a way to reduce costs? This laptop comes with a 14-inch display, but is not limited to that. There’s no need to buy another monitor. According to Lenovo, simply “rolling” it with your finger increases display space by 50%, allowing employees to display two browser windows of the same size on the same monitor. This is vertical, but should be fine for writers and developers. The less you spend on purchasing additional hardware, the more cost-effective you will be.
large roll up screen
Ascend Maxim
Use case: Simple meetings and events
Speaking of screens, how about an “epic movie experience” with a 100-inch display with 60-watt Harmon Karon speakers? It rolls up quickly and comes packaged in a professional furniture-like case. Smart and easy to use, it supports presentations and meetings.
Smart glasses with built-in hearing aids
nuance audio
Use case: Improving productivity for employees with disabilities
If you have employees with mild to moderate hearing concerns, you can consider purchasing these cool glasses that amplify sound depending on where they’re concentrating. Glasses are a more attractive and convenient alternative to hearing aids (particularly for employees who already need glasses, which requires them to wear more hardware on their heads than necessary), and they make work easier. It helps you do it quickly and efficiently. The company says the glasses (pending FDA approval and not yet available in the U.S.) “combine advanced beamforming technology with open ears and natural sound to help you hear better, especially in noisy environments. It makes it easier to catch potential sounds.” “We ensure not only comfort and convenience, but also high-performance sound quality.”
Looks like normal smart glasses
Use case: Ensuring your on-the-go workforce
halliday smart glasses
These glasses are not yet available, but will be available soon. This enables employees to save time with real-time translation, search, retrieve prompts for scripts and presentations, receive notifications, capture audio, assist with navigation, and more. This unit has a lifespan of 12 hours and actually looks normal, unlike those clunky and weird looking headsets that clunky gamers wear.
Autonomous agricultural and construction machinery
john deere
Use case: Get more work done with fewer people
While car companies continue to struggle to develop self-driving cars that can drive down the street without running over puppies, a surge of companies are building self-driving cars that can be used productively in warehouses and farms. John Deere offers a fleet of diesel- and battery-powered autonomous tractors and trucks equipped with advanced cameras and sensors that allow one employee to perform multi-crew planting, spraying, dumping, and You can do moving work.
CES 2025 was all about consumers. However, if you run a business, try some of these technologies. One or two may definitely help you be more productive.
