Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (January 17, 2025) inaugurated India’s largest mobility expo, Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The expo is expected to introduce more than 100 new products across vehicles, component products and technology.
Prime Minister Modi recalled the achievements of former Suzuki Motors chairman, late Osamu Suzuki, and late honorary chairman Ratan Tata, Tata Son. He says their legacy will provide inspiration for India’s mobility sector.
“Several factors will boost the growth of the country’s automobile sector. These include the country’s large population, growing middle class, rapid urbanization, infrastructure development, and Indian-made cars. ” said Prime Minister Modi.
He said, “The growth in automobile demand is also being driven by the government’s infrastructure spending. Last year, the government set aside Rs 11 billion for infrastructure spending. There is now a network of highways. .”

The five-day expo will be held at three venues: Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhumi in the capital, and India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida.
“Prime Minister Gati Shakti is also giving a push to multi-modal connectivity. This will reduce logistics costs and make India the most competitive country in terms of logistics costs. These will open multiple doors to the auto sector. It will open,” PM Modi said.

Emphasizing the need for mobility solutions, Prime Minister Modi said, “Our mobility solutions must have the 7 Cs: common, connected, convenient, uncongested, paid, clean, or state-of-the-art.”
“To reduce fossil fuel import charges, we are focusing on developing technologies for EVs, hydrogen fuels and biofuels. This vision includes the National Electric Mobility Mission and the Green Hydrogen Mission.” said Prime Minister Modi.
Commenting on the growth in EV sales in the country, Prime Minister Modi said, “Over the past 10 years, EV sales have increased by 640%. Ten years ago, annual sales of EVs were 2,600 units, but by 2024, there will be over 16.8 million EV sales. This means that the daily sales have doubled compared to the previous year.
“By the end of the decade, EV sales are predicted to grow eightfold,” he said. “The automotive industry is innovation and technology driven. Whether it’s innovation, technology, skills or demand, the future belongs to East Asia, Asia and India,” he added.
Mr. Modi addressed the Bharat in the presence of Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Mr. HD Kumaraswamy, Mr. Jitan Ram Manjhi, Mr. Manohar Lal, Mr. Piyush Goyal, Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri and other leaders of the automobile industry. – The Expo was opened at Mandapam.
It is estimated that there will be 5,100 international participants and more than 500,000 visitors from around the world. All in all, over 40 new product launches are expected at this marquee attraction of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. More than 60 new product and technology announcements are expected at the Components Show.
