Neuron Energy, a leading electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturer, inaugurated its new 5-acre manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to produce 1.5 GWh of batteries. This reflects the company’s commitment to promoting clean energy solutions in India.

The Rs 25-crore facility is strategically located to cater to the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions in the EV and energy storage sectors. Its production capacity covers applications such as two-wheelers, three-wheelers, golf carts, drones, battery energy storage systems, and communication solutions. The facility also includes a 6,500 square foot experience center showcasing Neuron Energy’s technology and a 5,000 square foot research and development center focused on energy storage innovation.

Neuron Energy’s participation in the expo marks its second participation and marks its contribution to India’s EV battery sector and alignment with the Make in India initiative. The Bharat Mobility Global Expo serves as an important platform for stakeholders in the mobility and automotive sectors to exchange ideas and highlight advances in sustainable transportation.

Commenting on the development, Neuron Energy CEO Pratik Kamdar highlighted the facility’s role in addressing the growing need for reliable, scalable and sustainable battery solutions. He noted that this initiative is in line with India’s electrification goals and broader transition to a clean energy system.

India’s EV market is rapidly expanding due to government policies and initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions. Battery manufacturing plays a key role in supporting this transition, with companies like Neuron Energy contributing local manufacturing capacity and helping to reduce import dependence.

The new Chakan facility strengthens Neuron Energy’s leadership in the EV battery industry and highlights Neuron Energy’s commitment to innovation and sustainable growth in support of India’s clean energy future.
