Germany warned on Tuesday of the growing security threat surrounding Russia’s “hybrid warfare,” which it said specifically targets Russia’s military industry.

“We are Ukraine’s biggest supporter in Europe, and that’s what[Russian President Vladimir]Putin wants, so we’re anticipating an escalating threat situation,” Interior Minister Nancy Feser said. “We are talking with companies about strengthening protection, especially in the defense industry.” Daily Süddeutsche Zeitung.

“The security situation has deteriorated significantly. President Putin is acting in a completely unscrupulous manner,” he added.

Feiser pointed to what she called the “brutality” with which Putin not only “wages a war of aggression against Ukrainian civilians,” but also in “cyber attacks and disinformation campaigns.”

There have been attacks on critical infrastructure and businesses, and there has been a significant increase in sabotage and espionage.

Russia has long faced accusations from the West that it is waging a hybrid war that uses conventional and unconventional means to destabilize countries. Tactics could include election interference, assassination plots, and attacks on critical infrastructure.

Last month, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also said the hybrid attack was launched by Russia and targeted Germany.

Pistorius told media group Funke: “Putin is carrying out hybrid attacks, and Germany is especially paying attention. He knows us very well, and Putin knows how to sting us. “There is,” he said.

He defined hybrid warfare as “a combination of classic military operations, economic pressure, computer attacks, and propaganda in the media and social networks,” and said that the attacker’s goal is, among other things, to destabilize society. Ta.
