Mel Gibson joined Joe Rogan’s podcast on Thursday, January 9, 2025, and the two discussed the raging LA wildfires. They talked about Newsom’s alleged involvement in the wildfires and “condemned” the California governor, according to the National News Desk.

The Mad Max actor told News Nation he flew into Austin, Texas, where Logan is based, for the podcast. When Gibson returned home from his podcast, the actor and filmmaker found his Malibu mansion burnt down, with nothing left except for the chickens in the coop.

Mel said the wildfire had not started at the time, but the winds were “picking up” in Malibu. He added:

“While we were talking, I found out that my neighborhood was on fire, and I felt a bit uneasy. Then I thought, “I wonder if my house is still there?” When I got home, sure enough, It wasn’t there…The vehicle was all gone, and I’ve never seen it so completely burnt out.”

Mel Gibson then shared some surprising good news he found upon returning home. Despite the fire damage, his chickens were unharmed. The 69-year-old said:

“It was amazing. I checked the coop and the chickens were fine. So I gave them some grain and water and they were happy to lay eggs…not a chicken roast.”

Mel Gibson spent about 15 years at home in Malibu.

According to Page Six, Mel Gibson’s Malibu estate is estimated to be worth $14.5 million, and the actor spent nearly 15 years there. Finding her home “completely burnt down” was a “devastating” and “emotional” experience for Ms Gibson, she told News Nation.

“It was home to me. There were so many personal things in there that I couldn’t go back to. All kinds of things. Everything from photos to files to personal things that I had. It’s been around for years, and clothing, and you know, cool stuff. ”

In an interview, Mel Gibson focused on the positives from the incident, saying that if all his loved ones were safe, everything he lost could be replaced. Later, joking about it, the Hacksaw Ridge director said:

“Now that all of my stuff is cinders, I’m relieved of the burden. I went home and thought, ‘Well, at least I don’t have that nasty plumbing problem anymore.'”

Mel Gibson and Joe Rogan slam Governor Gavin Newsom on podcast

On Thursday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Mel Gibson and the podcaster discussed the wildfires raging in Los Angeles, which forced thousands of residents to evacuate their homes this week. According to the National News Desk, Logan claimed the wildfires appear to be related to the state prioritizing homelessness over fire prevention.

Joe said:

“They spent $24 billion on homelessness last year, but what did they spend on preventing these wildfires?zip.”

Mel Gibson replied:

“In 2019, Newsom said, ‘We’re going to take care of the forests, we’re going to maintain the forests,’ and he’s done nothing… It’s all crazy, and all our tax dollars are probably I think it was used in Gavin’s hair gel.” ”

Logan went on to add that Governor Newsom is more concerned about presenting an optimistic outlook for the state to the media than solving the pressing problems California is grappling with.

According to news outlets, Governor Newsom has also been criticized by Donald Trump on social media. The president-elect asked him to resign.
