President Macron called it a “summit for action” and said it would provide a platform to discuss artificial intelligence.

During their meeting in November 2024, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the India-France strategic partnership. The two leaders emphasized their shared vision for bilateral and international cooperation as outlined in the Horizon 2047 Roadmap and other key bilateral declarations.

At the 30th French Ambassadors’ Conference on January 9, Macron emphasized that the next AI Action Summit will focus on placing France and Europe at the center of the world’s artificial intelligence, as well as on innovation and talent. did.

“Beyond that transition, it will be establishing what we want to do with the foundation for the public good…For me, the core of the summit is about the ability to attract innovation and talent, and to make France and Europe AI to be at the center of the fight,” ANI quoted him as saying.

In December, the French Presidency confirmed India’s invitation to the AI Action Summit, describing it as a “country of great importance”. As many as 90 countries, including India, have been invited to participate in the summit.

“We have invited India and are working very closely with India in the lead up to the summit. Misinformation and misuse of AI are themes that will be addressed,” the French presidency said.
