Fernando Tatis Jr. is one of the most popular stars in the Dominican baseball fraternity. Robinson Cano, who enjoyed a 17-year career in MLB, was equally popular during his prime.
Cano is currently traded to the Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Mexican Baseball League. The club, owned by billionaire businessman Alfredo Harp Herp, was listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (also known as Mexican Bolsa) on Thursday.
Kano shared the news in an Instagram post on the same day.

Fernando Tatis left a two-word comment on the post, eliciting a response from Cano.
“Viva Mexico”. (loosely translated: Long live Mexico) – commented Tatis.
“que viva” (roughly translated, may he live) – Kano answered.
Cano joined the Diablos in March 2024 and led the team to the Serie del Rey championship. He appeared in 78 games for the team, winning the batting title and leading the team in hits. The eight-time MLB All-Star hit 14 home runs and had 77 RBIs.

Fernando Tatis Jr. celebrated his 26th birthday on January 2nd. His mother Maria shared a video of his birthday celebration with a heartfelt tribute.
The next day, Tatis Jr. shared a video post on his Instagram showing off his golf skills. Tatis Jr. is not an expert, but he manages to hit the ball with impressive force at a clip. He wore a long-sleeved T-shirt, track pants, and white shoes, topped with a playful cowboy hat.
Interestingly, Tatis Jr. added his signature flair to the moment by throwing the golf club away in a motion that was strikingly similar to a bat flip after hitting a home run. The Padres star captioned the post:
“Birthday hack and sunset 🦦🌅”
Tatis Jr.’s younger brother, Ilya, responded to the post with a few words.
“Disfruta” (roughly translated as “enjoying”) – Ilya commented:
Tatis Jr. and the Padres gave the Dodgers, the eventual 2024 World Series champions, a national championship. Several members of the Boys in Blue later said that the NLDS game against the Padres was more difficult than the World Series against the New York Yankees.
Fernando Tatis Jr. was named the Padres’ best performer during the postseason. The dynamic outfielder had four home runs and seven RBIs in seven games, posting an impressive batting average of .423.
Tatis Jr. missed 59 regular season games after injuring his right femur in June. He says he will aim for a stronger and healthier campaign in future elections.
