SN Subramanyan’s comments about wanting employees to work 90 hours a week have come under fire. In a conversation with employees, he was asked why multibillion-dollar companies still make their employees work on Saturdays. “It’s too bad I can’t make you work on Sundays. I’d be happier if you could work on Sundays, because I work on Sundays,” Subramanyan said in a post currently being shared on Reddit. said in an undated video.

He doubled down on his remarks, questioning what employees do at home when they’re not at work. “What are you doing sitting at home? How long can you look at your wife? Now go to the office and start working,” he said.

The company now reiterated his remarks, saying that driving India’s growth requires a “period of collective dedication and hard work.”

At L&T, we believe in passion. “We remain committed to fostering a culture where purpose, purpose and performance drive us forward.”

After the video was shared on Reddit, Subramanyan’s remarks were criticized and compared to a similar idea proposed by Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, who suggested that employees should work 70 hours a week. .
