Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez, who recently split from Ben Affleck, continues to tell her new movie star Judy Robles that she deserves all the attention she’s been getting. The two are currently promoting “Unstoppable.” The emotional sports drama has won awards and garnered attention, and Robles received a standing ovation at the screening, Variety reported.
Viewers are impressed by how well this single mother raised her son Anthony despite having to endure financial hardship and an abusive relationship. “I always tell her, ‘You have to own who you are and what you’ve done.’ You are an inspiration to every mother who has ever struggled. Dear You raised a son who became a leader and you deserve credit.” But she’s very humble,” Lopez said.
As “Unstoppable” viewers know, Anthony became a college wrestling champion, an impossible feat considering he only has one leg. According to Variety, Judy was standing by and unexpectedly learned the same lesson she was trying to teach him. “If you try hard enough, you can achieve anything.” After Anthony graduated, Judy went back to school, earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and eventually became the associate athletic director at ASU.
Jennifer says of her character’s journey: We both grew up Latina in this country. We both had children and had hopes and dreams for them. We both had difficult relationships and it brought our family together,” she said.
