Comedian mocks CNN’s low ratings, Democrats

Stand-up comedian Whitney Cummings slammed CNN’s plummeting ratings during Tuesday’s New Year’s Eve coverage. The comedian also mocked Democrats over their strategy in the 2024 presidential election.

Appearing on CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen” on Tuesday, Cummings said, “I’m doing a show for 3,000 people right now, which is comparable to CNN’s viewership numbers these days. “I will,” he said. The comedian added: “But not this show. Everyone’s attention is on this show.”

In response to the comedian’s jab at the left-wing news network, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper laughed and said, “Nice, nice,” and Bravo host Andy Cohen said, “Everyone’s on fire today.”

According to FOX News, CNN experienced double-digit declines in key viewership metrics in the first two weeks after President-elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory over Vice President Kamala Harris. The outlet noted that compared to 2024, CNN has lost 33% of its total viewers, 36% in prime time viewers and 39% in demographic viewership.

Fox News reported that CNN fell to 17th place in its prime-time cable lineup for the first week of December, with “Anderson Cooper 360,” “CNN Newsnight with Abbey Phillippe,” “Catilan Collins’ The The average number of viewers for “Sauce” was approximately 367,000 for the eight programs. In contrast to CNN’s numbers, FOX News reported that it averaged about 2.5 million viewers in prime time during the first week. of December.

During an appearance on CNN’s New Year’s Eve show, Cummings also criticized the entertainment industry for trying to lecture Americans.

Asked about his new role hosting a trivia show called “Fast Friends,” Cummings said, “You know, I’m a fan of Friends. I’m also a fan of entertainment that just entertains. Hollywood Now there’s a new thing going on where everything has to lecture people on how to vote and make them feel guilty about global warming.”

Cummings also slammed Democrats over the 2024 election.

“The 2024 election messed with our heads. Democrats were too busy keeping their bodies straight to hold a primary,” the comedian joked. “It was amazing how pro-choice parties gave voters nothing when it came to presidential candidates.
