To learn more about the brand’s evolving strategy in India, its outlook for 2025, its investment in local manufacturing and its focus on empowering women in sports, Shibani Garat speaks with Nirendra, General Manager, Adidas India. In terms of key focus areas for 2025, India is poised to host more technical footwear manufacturing capabilities. Therefore, apart from sales and marketing activities, we plan to bring in more production capacity in India. It’s part of a larger strategy, so we’re much more independent and able to react quickly to trends. Many parts of our products are already produced in India. So, for example, the issue is already being made in India, but how does Adidas want to leverage women in sports around the world, and how many girls drop out of school at the age of 14? twice as many as boys. This form of Adidas is great as it tells a great story of Indian female athletes and can inspire the next generation of sports. We recently launched Harman Preet and ODI jerseys. The women’s team will also wear them before the men’s team.
