Pak government, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s PTI to meet to resolve political differences | Pakistan News

Negotiators from the Pakistani government and the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are scheduled to hold key in-camera talks to resolve nasty political differences, reports said on Tuesday.

Thursday’s talks were convened by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who has been facilitating talks between the two sides.

The meeting will be held at Parliament House at 11 am and is expected to build on the discussions that began on December 23, the Express Tribune reported.

Imran Khan, the imprisoned former prime minister, established the PTI after internal consultations and plans to present two key demands in writing to the next parliament.

These demands include the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the violence on May 9, 2023 and the crackdown on PTI workers in Islamabad on November 26, 2023, and the This includes the release of the offender.

Former parliament speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaiser reiterated these demands and the party was adamant about the need for a commission to investigate the May 9 and November 26 incidents. He also stressed the need for Khan’s release. The first round of talks on December 23 was reportedly positive, with both sides agreeing to continue dialogue.

PTI was represented at the last meeting by Qaiser, Sunni Ittihad Council (SIC) chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza, and Wahdat Muslim Majlis (MWM) leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas. It was.
SIC and MWM are both important allies of Mr. Khan.

On the government side, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister’s Political Advisor Rana Sanaullah, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Pakistan People’s Party’s Raja Parvez Ashraf, and Istekham-e-Pakistan Party’s Naveed Kamal It will be represented by a committee consisting of nine members, including Mr. (IPP) leader Aleem Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Balochistan Awami Party’s Sardar Khalid Maghsi, Pakistan Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P) ) leader Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

Mr. Sadiq praised the leadership of both the government and the opposition for creating a constructive environment and expressed hope that these efforts will lead to improved political stability and solutions to Pakistan’s challenges.

The January 2 meeting is seen as an important step towards resolving the ongoing political polarization and promoting cooperation between the government and the PTI.
