The plane that crashed at Muan Airport was carrying a mother of two, Jongluk Doummanee.
Jongluk Dungmanee, 49, a cousin of a Thai passenger on the fatal Jeju Air flight, said he was “sad” and “shocked.”
Pornpichaya Charumsin, a resident of Nong Wasaw district in Udon Thani city, said that her cousin Jongluk, who is the mother of two children aged 7 and 15, has been working in agriculture with her Korean husband and has been living in South Korea for five years. He said he lived in . 3 years ago.
In an interview with BBC Thai, she said, “I have only seen such news from other countries, and I never thought that Thai people would be involved,” adding, “Seeing the video footage made me even more heartbroken.” It hurt,” he added.
“I was shocked and had goosebumps. I couldn’t believe it… I was even more surprised when I saw on the news that one of the victims was from Udon Thani.”
Before her flight on Jeju Air flight 7C2216, Jongluk had spent more than two weeks in Thailand visiting family and traveling to Chiang Mai with her husband. Her husband had already returned to Korea before she left.
Background: Confirmation has been received that 179 passengers and crew on this flight died and two crew members were rescued. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that two Thai women on board the flight were confirmed dead. A total of 88 victims have been confirmed so far.
