YouTube star Jimmy “Mr. Beast” posted on X to claim that his new competitive reality game show, Beast Games, is Prime Video’s number one unscripted series. The show has released three episodes on the platform so far, and the first episode is available to watch without a subscription.
Commenting on the show’s historic launch on Prime Video and what opportunities it may offer other creators on the streaming platform, Mr.Beast wrote:
“Beast Games is officially the launch of the #1 unscripted series in Prime Video history 😀 We hope this opens the door for other creators on the streaming platform.”
MrBeast claims Beast Games is the #1 unscripted series launch on Prime Video
Beast Games is MrBeast’s highly anticipated game show where 1,000 contestants compete against each other in several challenging trials to be the last one standing to win the grand prize of $5 million.
In another post on December 21, 2024, the YouTuber revealed that Beast Games is in the US, India, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, Brazil, and Turkey.
The show’s launch on December 19, 2024 sparked a lot of discussion online, with media giant IGN reviewing it negatively and classifying it as “mostly boring”. This review was later criticized by both MrBeast and FaZe CEO Richard Banks, with the latter claiming that IGN had “zero understanding of the demand or appetite for content” in 2024.
The show is scheduled to release new episodes every Thursday, and MrBeast promises that each new episode will become more engaging as the number of remaining contestants decreases.
To celebrate the release of the third episode of Beast Games, the YouTuber announced a $100,000 prize open to the general public in the United States. Ten (10) winners will be randomly selected and paid out from the aforementioned prize pool.
