Hit fashion trends for 2024

2024 has brought us fashion moments and trends that are taking social media feeds by storm. Was it the method dressing that celebs noticed at movie premieres, or the particular shade of green that dominated everything from pop culture to presidential campaigns? As 2025 approaches, we take a look back at five fashion statements that shined this year and what we’re looking forward to.

BOX 1 Loud Luxury (2)

Luxurious but loud

Rooted in glamor and unapologetically loud, a loud luxury or maximalist aesthetic screams “more is more.” Think rich colors, bold and uplifting prints and patterns, large logos, and luxurious fabrics and textures. Kendall Jenner’s expensive fur jacket, Sabrina Carpenter’s 1994 Chanel faux fur set, and Emily’s second season wardrobe emily in pariswas proof that maximalism has indeed taken over in 2024.

BOX 2 Gaki

Gaki’s summer ruled

From red carpets to politics, if there’s one trend that everyone has in common, it’s the color that defines summer 2024: brat green. The almost slime-like acid green color was worn by Kamala Harris, Nita Ambani, and Victoria Beckham, among others, and showed its influence in spaces beyond music. ‘Brat Green’ was bold, edgy and about channeling your inner brat.

BOX3 Leopard print (1)

Lively leopard print

2024 was the year this loud print made a comeback. It has permeated not only streetwear but also luxury wear. Take cues from Tamannaah Bhatia’s delicately embellished leopard-print paneled dress and Kim K’s airy coordinating set that makes leopard print look appropriate for everyday wear.

BOX 4 Modest(1)

The era of “modestness”

If there was a brat summer, there was also an understated aesthetic that was its complete antithesis. The trend started after TikTok creator Jolie LeBron’s social media video about “being modest” went viral. To be modest is to embrace understated elegance. Think earthy tones, classic pieces like tailored trousers, ankle-length skirts, cropped winter blazers and trench coats, elegant blouses, structured handbags, and minimal jewelry.

BOX 5 Method Dressing (2)

Method dressing is all the rage

What stars like Ryan Gosling started in 2023 is still trending among celebrities in 2024. Definitely method dressing has arrived! Fun outfits featuring cricket-related prints and patterns during Janhvi Kapoor’s promotions Mr. and Mrs. Mahi;Shraddha Kapoor wears a red saree, corded eyes, braided hair, and a nose pin. street 2 Promotion. Blake Lively appeared in an ensemble with floral elements. Method dressing – an approach to storytelling that uses fashion as a tool – features on nearly every promotional tour for the Holly and Bolly star.

What will be on the fashion platter in 2025?
