Tony Ferguson’s current form is far from indicative of the type of fighter he was ten years ago.
Ferguson is currently on a historic losing streak, but at one point had the best run in UFC lightweight history from 2013 to 2019. “El Cucuy” dismantled many quality fighters in 2015 in vintage fashion, including Edson Barboza.
Fighting on the main card of The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale, Ferguson walked up to Barboza and spanked him from behind while he was in guard, leaving him badly bleeding before subjugating him with his signature bravo choke.
It was a big win for the former interim UFC lightweight champion, who would go on to win five more in a row before suffering the unfortunate loss.
