Investing.com – Indian stocks fell after the close on Wednesday, with sector losses leading the decline in stocks.

NSE closed 0.11% lower and the index also fell 0.11%.

The best performers in the session are: Tata Motors Ltd. (NS:) rose 1.92% or 13.90 points to close at 736.10. meanwhile, Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:) added 1.43% or 33.50 points to end at 2,372.45. bharat oil Co-op Limited (NS:) rose 1.00% (2.90 points) to 292.00 in late trading.

The worst performer of the session was Power Grid Corporation of India (NS:), which fell 1.65% or 5.20 points to close at 310.10. JSW Steel Ltd (NS:) fell 1.62% or 15.20 points to end at 921.85. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:) fell 1.30% (18.30 points) to 1,387.00.

Top performers in BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Motors (BO:) up 1.92% to 736.35, ITC Ltd (BO:) up 0.86% to 478.30 and Nestle India (BO:) up 0.69%. Ended at 2,166.80.

The worst performer was Power Grid Corporation of India (BO:), which fell 1.62% to 310.15 in late trade. JSW Steel (BO:) fell 1.54% to settle at 922.25. Titan Company (BO:) settled at 922.25. It closed 1.19% lower at 3,356.00.

On the National Stock Exchange of India, advancers outnumbered decliners by 1,186 to 1,141, with 45 stocks ending unchanged. Bombay Stock Exchange had 0 declining issues and 0 advancing issues.

The Nifty 50 options, which measures implied volatility, fell 2.53% to 20.08, hitting a three-month high.

Gold futures for February delivery were unchanged, down 0.00% (0.00%) at $2,633.50 per troy ounce. In other commodity trading, crude oil for February delivery fell 0.09% (0.06%) to $70.10 per barrel, while Brent crude oil contract for March rose 1.24% ($0.90) to $70.10 per barrel. It traded for $73.22.

USD/INR rose 0.27% to 85.40, while EUR/INR rose 0.01% to 88.56.

Dollar index futures rose 0.18% to 108.00.
