New Delhi (India), December 24 (ANI): The central government on Tuesday announced the 2024 grant for rural local bodies of Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh under the 15th Finance Commission (XV FC) grant. – Announced funding for fiscal year 2025.

The grant includes: INR1,598.8 million for Uttar Pradesh; INR446.49 crore to Andhra Pradesh, a significant step in strengthening grassroots governance and rural development.

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj said that Uttar Pradesh has received the second round of untied subsidy in total. INR1,598.8 million.

“These funds will be directed to all 75 eligible district panchayats, all 826 eligible block panchayats and all eligible 57,691 gram panchayats of the state,” it said.

Similarly, Andhra Pradesh has been allocated a second round of total untied subsidy. INR$420.99 million plus withholding tax INR25.49 billion from the first payment of the fiscal year.

The ministry said that in Andhra Pradesh, “these funds will be distributed to 13,097 duly elected gram panchayats, 650 duly elected block panchayats and 13 eligible district panchayats in the state. It will be provided to everyone.”

The grants recommended by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Ministry of Jal Shakti will be disbursed in two installments a year. These aim to address the specific needs of the region, based on the 29 subjects outlined in the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution.

While untied grants address a variety of development requirements excluding salaries and set-up costs, tied grants specifically address sanitation, maintenance of open defecation free (ODF) status, and water supply management, including rainwater harvesting and water recycling. will be assigned.

This direct financial empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) is transforming local governance in the provinces.

The ministry also said that the initiative is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ and aims to promote inclusive growth and self-reliance at the village level. He pointed out that there was.

The fund will strengthen accountability, improve basic services, promote participatory democracy and move India closer to the goal of ‘Vikshit Bharat’, where every village actively contributes to the country’s prosperity. is expected. (Ani)
