You might be surprised how many times a week you hear the phrase “What would you do if you were a French woman?” It creeps into my thoughts. Example: I’m hosting for the weekend and can’t think of what to make for dinner. What would a French woman do? I’m having a wedding in the winter, so I want to look chic, but I don’t want to feel cold throughout the ceremony. What would a French woman do? In fact, I’ve long admired the French way of approaching anything. I try to avoid exaggerating things, but I can’t help it myself. These people exude a chic vibe that you want to emulate as much as possible.
Now that we’re in the early stages of 2025, much of my day is spent analyzing and finding new trends that Who What Wear readers should know about. So, naturally, we started thinking about the 2025 fashion trends that the French will wear. This piqued my interest. Instead of waiting to see what they choose, I thought I’d ask them directly. We asked five ultra-stylish French influencers which 2025 fashion trends they’re most interested in this year. As expected, the answer came back very sharply.
If you’re wondering which French fashion trends will be hot in 2025, scroll down to read what real French women actually think on the subject.

Salome Molly
1. Ballet Core
“I know it’s nothing new, but I love how designers are interpreting this season’s ballet trends,” says Salome Molly. “I still love ballet flats and wrap tops. I also enjoy adding a little grunge twist to keep[the trend]from becoming too sweet. Try layering a leather jacket over the top.”

2. East-West Bag
“Practical, fun, chic, 2025. I’m really looking forward to experimenting with East-West bag trends this year,” says Molly.
Alaïa’s Le Teckel started this style, but it’s Prada’s suede bag that captures my attention (and just about every fashion editor I know).

3. Bag charm
“One of the trends I’m particularly looking forward to in 2025, and which I think French women will definitely embrace, is the bag charm trend,” says Andrea Mann. “A very clever and playful way to add personality to any bag, they are quickly becoming a staple in fashion lovers’ accessory collections. In Paris, where understated elegance is key, these small accessories are a great way to make a statement. They put a fun and unexpected twist on classic bags, and that’s what makes them so appealing. ”

4. Fringe processing
“The trend I’ll be wearing in 2025 is fringe in every conceivable sense,” says Anne-Laure May. “Well, it’s not just jackets with fringes, but shoes with suede fringes. There are so many ways to wear them now, but it still feels nostalgic. I’m glad[it]is coming back. Back in the high days. It reminds me of what I used to wear at school. “

5. Sheer skirt
“I’ve always loved transparent clothes, and there was a lot of that on the spring runways,” says Meis. “For me, I’m going to wear an organza skirt. If I wear a big sweater or blazer over it, it’s a really interesting (visually) look.”

“I’m obsessed with animal print. I like leopards, but also zebras and cows. These feel brand new for 2025.”
