Copenhagen Fashion Week is just wrapped up and there is much to analyze from trends discovered on the runway, but there is also much to discuss about fashion discovered from catwalks.
Editors, buyers and journalists from around the world have descended to Copenhagen over the past week to reveal Scandi’s finest talent. From MKDT Studio’s calm show (set inside the Sun-Drenched Attrium at Kunst’s Statens Museum) to the debut of brand Stel, which is located at the brutal headquarters of construction company Bjarke Ingels, we witnessed unforgettable moments.
Outside the show, participants leaned against all sorts of winter textures, leaning against fragments such as gorgeous suede coats and refined mochamer bomber jackets. The leopard print was a signature on coats, shoes and accessories. And given the frigid season, the editors relied on warm winter accessories while leaping around from balaclava to snoods, from shows to shows. There were even hints of western talent discovered among show fans wearing fringe jackets and tassel bags. What’s certain is that the trend in bag charms is still growing stronger.
First, take a look at important trends from Copenhagen’s best street style looks.
1. suede
Are you in a winter style rut? The best way to get out is to lean towards a warm winter texture like suede. Style it like a street style set. There is one skirt in a matching suede skirt or a textured corduroy. & add a pop of colours like this vibrant crimson red scarf for your daughter. This can be worn to wrap around the neck, shoulders or extra warmth when dodging winter chills and wrap around the shoulders.
2. Dark Chocolate Bomber
Instead of a puffy winter coat, consider a dark cocoa brown leather (or fake!) bomber. Style it with a blue button-down shirt and khaki pants and add a camel leather or suede top handle bag.
3. Balaclava, snood, scarf
Consider adding balaclava or knit beanies to your winter wardrobe this season. You will never regret it when the wind falls. Buy the soft wool version from Scandi Label Ganni or buy the cashmere version of Loeffler Randall in red or gray. You can also use traditional scarves to add warmth and wrap around your head like these street stylers.
4. Fringe everything
Western talent was discovered throughout Copenhagen Fashion Week. There, several show fans were exhibiting the best fringe jackets and accessories. This pairing styles cocoa brown knee high leather boots and warm wool skirts or pants.
5. Sleek leather coat and lace trimming dress
We reported on the return of the Phoebe Filo Ella Lace Trim, which also appeared in Copenhagen. Style it with a longline leather coat, a simple slow-on shoulder bag, and pointy toe kitten heels.
6. Leopard print coat and adjustable flat
Leopard Print was one of the biggest breakout trends of the season. Here you can choose to wear it the way you like. Whether you prefer a classic leopard coat or choose a popular flat from Vivi Venice in the wild print, there’s no wrong way to do a leopard. After all, it’s technically “neutral.”
7. Statement and Vintage Wash Jeans
Choose a great shirring coat this season. This version from Maje is reversible. That is, you get one two. For even more warmth, layer a turtleneck underneath and style it with your favorite blue jeans. Tighten it all together with this sophisticated brown belt like B-low and finish it out with GH Bass men’s wear loafers.
8. The charm of everyday carryalls and maximalists
If you haven’t styled your go-to leather bag with personalized charms yet, this is your signature to do so. All over Copenhagen, people added a mixture of tasseled charms and boring things to their handbags, and put distinctive stamps on accessories they really made themselves.
