A highly anticipated UFC event, UFC 300 was the most-watched event of 2024. Zhang Weili vs. Yang Xiaonan has been set for the co-main event for the Strawweight Championship. This was the first fight between Chinese fighters for the UFC title.
The fight between the two Chinese men lived up to expectations, with Xiaonan attempting to choke Zhang in the first round, only for Zhang to escape.
Zhang made a strong comeback in this match and dominated the second half. The judges gave the score 49-45 in Chan’s favor, with Chan winning by unanimous decision.
Kayla Harrison vs. Holly Holm (UFC 300)
Every fighter on the UFC 300 fight card gave fans memorable fights. Kayla Harrison made her debut against Holly Holm. Kayla faced Holm, an Olympic judo gold medalist and UFC icon.
Harrison wasted no time and dropped Holm to the ground. The judo champion put on a show with some nasty elbows and finished the job in the second round. She won the match with a rear naked choke.
Valentina Shevchenko vs Alexa Grasso (UFC 306)
The UFC 306 event brought amazing technology and a once-in-a-lifetime experience to UFC fans in the arena. The co-main event was set to be a rematch between Valentina and Alexa for the flyweight championship.
Shevchenko regained the championship, defeating Grasso by unanimous decision. She put on a masterclass on the ground as she held ground control for over 16 minutes in this match.
