In December, we launched Agent ERA by releasing an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Flash. Earlier this year, we updated the 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental update on Google AI Studio. This has improved performance by combining Flash speed with the ability to reason through more complex problems.

And last week, we made the updated 2.0 Flash available to all users of the desktop and mobile Gemini app, helping everyone discover new ways to create, interact and collaborate with Gemini.

Today, I’m creating a commonly available updated Gemini 2.0 flash from the Gemini APIs of Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. Developers can now build production applications with 2.0 flash.

They also release an experimental version of the Gemini 2.0 Pro, the best model for coding performance and complex prompts. Available in the Gemini app for Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, as well as Gemini Advanced users.

In previews released on Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, we are releasing a new model of Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite, the most cost-effective model ever.

Finally, Gemini app users can take advantage of 2.0 flash thinking experiments in the desktop and mobile model dropdown.

All of these models feature multimodal inputs with text output on release, and will see more modalities to take advantage of general availability in the coming months. For more information, including pricing details, please visit the Google for Developers Blog. We are working on updates and improved features for the Gemini 2.0 family model in the future.

2.0 Flash: New Update for General Availability

The set of models first introduced in I/O 2024 is popular as a powerful flagship model for developers, and is ideal for large and large amounts of high-frequency tasks, and uses a context window to create a huge amount of information Multimodal reasoning is extremely capable of over 1 million tokens. We are excited to see the reception by the developer community.

2.0 Flash is generally available to more people across AI products. Key benchmark performance improvements, image generation and text speeches will soon be coming.

Try Gemini APIs for Gemini 2.0 Flash or Google AI Studio and Vertex AI in the Gemini app. More pricing details can be found on the Google for Developers Blog.

2.0 Pro Experimental: Best Model for Coding Performance and Complex Prompts

As we continue to share early experimental versions of Gemini 2.0, like Gemini-Exp-20206, we have received great feedback from developers on strengths such as coding and best use cases.

Today we are releasing an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Pro that responds to that feedback. It has the most powerful coding performance and ability to handle complex prompts that better understand and infer world knowledge than any model released so far. It comes with the largest context window with 2 million tokens, allowing you to comprehensively analyze and understand a huge amount of information, and has the ability to invoke tools such as Google search and code execution.
