Russia’s state-run Rosaboronexport is keen to strengthen its defence bonds, and is keen to work with India on the SU-57E, including joint production of fifth-generation stealth fighters and India I have a suggestion. The proposal for joint production involves the use of the same factory where the SU-30MKI fighter is currently being manufactured.
A representative from Rosoboronexport told Wion, “Rosoboronexport offers comprehensive cooperation on the SU-57E project. Our proposal includes the supply of aircraft from Russia and the organisation of joint production in India. It will be done.”
The SU-57E debuted in India at Bengaluru Air India 2025 and was the star of Asia’s largest aerospace and defense exhibition along with the US F-35 Lightning II. The existence of both the Su 57 and F35 shows a growth position as key to India’s global defence market. Aero India’s Russian su 57 e is being flew by Sergei Bogdan. The fighter planes were created by United Aircraft Cooperation (UAC). It boasts advanced stealth technology, super moneyvariability and integrated modular avionics, and is designed for aviation advantages, ground attacks and reconnaissance missions.
A representative from Rosoboronexport noted that the Su 57e “does better than its competitors due to the flight’s performance characteristics and combat capabilities.” Close defense partners India and Russia have also had close cooperation on the development and procurement of fighter jets. India has acquired a considerable number of Russian fighters, including the MIG-21, MIG-29 and SU-30MKI.
Russia has shown an eagerness to align India’s strategic initiatives, such as “Make in India,” providing support for not only aircraft but also manufacturing, maintenance and technology transfer.
There is no response from the Indian side for the current Russian proposal, but remember that India has its own fighter programme, such as Tejas and advanced medium fighters, which are facing delays. is important. In 2007, India and Russia launched a project to jointly develop fifth-generation fighter jets, but the Indian side began to experience a variety of issues, including cost, technology transfer and performance concerns, in 2018. I have withdrawn from the project.
