Opinions | Do Republicans destroy Medicade to supply money to rich tax cuts?

Last week, it was brutal for those who care about the future of health insurance for low -income and middle -income Americans. On Tuesday, the federal government’s Medicade Fund Procurement Portal was temporarily closed and panicked by doctors, patients and hospitals. The following day, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a candidate for President Trump’s health secretary, covers more than 70 million Americans, but the basics of programs during the Senate hearing. I drove the facts. On the other hand, in the House of Representatives, legislators distribute so -called menus of reduced expenditures that hinder access to healthcare.

The most catastrophic and long -lasting is the last threat. As you know, the Trump administration faces the dilemma. Many Republicans have promised to extend tax cuts in 2017 (almost half of Americans going to 5 % of Americans) for a large cost of $ 4 trillion in the next 10 years. It is reluctant to add to the Federal Defense.

How do they come to math? By taking over the healthcare compensation from children, new mothers, disabled people, and the elderly, they seem to be ready to sacrifice the poor and middle class. Republican Republican leaders suggest that one option they are considering bankrolling tax deductions is to reduce the number of Medicade by hundreds of millions. Another proposal rolls back a subsidy that supports middle -class families who paid an affordable care method insurance premium. They said they wanted to complete the law in the first 100 days of Trump’s presidential position.

It is difficult to exaggerate how catastrophic the proposed cut is. Medicade alone covers more than 40 % of US births. It is one of the most cost -effective insurance programs in Japan, not distribution materials. In other words, there is almost no fat that reduces people immediately without damaging people. Thanks to Medicade, children, the elderly, and those with disabilities (a group that constitutes more than 75 % of program spending) can see the doctor without going bankrupt.

In the optional menu, the Republican members of the House of Republicons suggest that Medicade will add work requirements. The supporters of labor requirements argue that such measures are encouraging employment, but the evidence is not overwhelming. This is because almost all medicido adults can already work, or are students, disabled, or caretakers for someone else. Instead, people lose access to care because it is difficult to prove that they have a bureaucratic deficit and qualification. Labor requirements enlarge the bureaucracy system, worsening the care of less people.

Republican members are considering distributing a certain amount to the state, no matter what kind of care actually costs. But the state is already struggling with a strict budget. They do not have a hidden undeveloped solution to provide funds to health care, like magic. With a small amount of money, they need to refuse to compensate for more people and reduce the number of providers. In other words, doctors are less likely to see Medicade patients, reducing access to everyone. Twelve states have led to a book on books that can significantly reduce them if the federal government ends the Medicade extension program or the federal government reduces funds.

Medicade is not the only potential victim. Republican members are also paying attention to the premium subsidies of affordable price care methods. This is the same subsidy as working Americans to buy private insurance at a more affordable price. Rolling these credits to see that the monthly premiums rose rapidly for hundreds of dollars.

Before the ACA subsidies were expanded, millions of people could not afford to buy health insurance. Low -income families faced an impossible choice between paying rent or maintaining health insurance.

I need to be honest about these trade -offs. If you reduce Medicade or reduce ACA Premium credit, your family will lose health insurance. The children don’t care. Rural clinics and hospitals are nearby. People are suffering.

Since Republican members have only a thin majority of rabbit in the house, only a handful of people are needed to prevent this plan. After all, a long political game is doubtful. The reduction of Medicade will inconvenience hospitals and patients in rural areas, represented by Republican members who need to pass this plan. Republican politicians are increasingly claiming to defend working -class families, especially those of these voters. However, closing local hospitals and supplying funds to the top earners is the ultimate betrayal of those members. It is highly likely that the Republican members’ last efforts to cancel medical compensation have contributed to the majority loss of the next year by abolishing the expansion of Medicade along with the reasonable price care methods in 2017. Please remember.

I am the first person to recognize the serious problem of the US healthcare system, that is, the cost and low results of the empty. How to fix these problems is not the target of the most vulnerable.

According to high -priced research, high -priced and enlarged management, shifts conversation from the merits of stripping and to deal with things that actually drive costs.

It is ruthless to obstruct Medicade or make it impossible for middle -class Americans to pay an ACA exchange plan. You do not need to choose a child to an emergency treatment room or to pay a food invoice.
