Israeli forces forced them to scout a building with explosive cords tied to their necks before being shot dead with his wife.

The Israeli army forced the 80-year-old Palestinian to act as a human shield in Gaza by tying an explosive cord around his neck and threatening to blow his head off. .

A senior officer in the Army’s Nahal Brigade tied an explosive cord around the man’s neck before reconnaissing the scouts. Eight hours later, the soldier ordered the man to flee with his wife from his home in Gaza city’s Zeitoun district in May, and +972 magazine reported the work in collaboration with the hottest places in hell.

However, when another Israeli battalion spotted an elderly couple on the street, they were shot dead on the spot, according to Israeli soldiers on the scene.

The Israeli soldier initially met a couple at home. They told Arabic-speaking soldiers that they were unable to escape to southern Gaza due to mobility obstacles.

But even in his condition, the soldiers forced an unknown 80-year-old boy to walk in front of them with a cane.

Soldiers investigated that the commander decided to use Palestinian couples as “mosquitoes” and refers to procedures that the Israeli Army serves as human shields to prevent Palestinian military civilians from being fired or blown away .

“He went into each house before us, so if there are (explosives) or extremists, we can (take a hit) for us,” one soldier said.

“He was told that if he did something wrong or did not follow the orders, the soldier behind him would pull the cord and his head would tear from his body.”

This man was forced to act as an eight-hour human shield before he was ordered with his wife to walk towards the so-called “human belt” of southern Gaza.

However, the soldiers did not mind telling the couple that they were passing through the area to the nearby Israeli division, according to testimony.

“After 100 metres, the other battalions saw them and shot them immediately,” the soldier said. “They died like that on the street.”

Al Jazeera contacted the Israeli military to comment on the reported incident.

It has been widely reported that Israeli military uses Palestinian civilians as human shields despite being prohibited under international law.

In August, Israeli Daily Harletz sent Israeli forces to lure Palestinian civilians, submit their uniforms to subjugate, attach cameras to their bodies, and send them to the buildings to protect underground tunnels and Israeli forces.

“(i) It’s difficult to recognize them. They usually wear Israeli military uniforms, but many of them are in their 20s and they are always with Israeli soldiers of different ranks.” Haaretz’s article states. But if you look better, you will see that most of them are wearing sneakers, not army boots. And their hands are cuffed behind their backs, and they His face is full of fear.”

On the occupied West Bank in June, Israeli forces clearly used human shields to tie wounded Palestinians to the hood of military jeeps.

Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur to occupied Palestinian Territories, condemned the incident and called it “the shield in human behavior.”

And in January 2024, Palestinian store owner Bahaa El Din Abu Rath, 36, used him as a human shield in Dura, the occupied West Bank, where Israeli soldiers occupied him. He spoke about it.

“So many questions have passed through my heart. Can I go back to my family? Will I be shot or a rock will attack me? I’m arrested by these soldiers for some reason Is it? When and how can I release it in the middle of this warzone?” Abu Rath said. “I spent about an hour and a half like that, but I don’t know when I’ll be killed or if I’ll take another break.”
