Earlier this month, Julian Alfred made waves at the 2025 New Balance Grand Prix after dominating the 300m event by publishing a national record of 36.16 seconds. She defeated Dina Asher Smith and Emma Montoya, who recorded 36.87 and 38.37 seconds respectively.

After the victory, she revealed plans for the 2025 indoor season.

“It was something, but honestly, my coach and I work really hard,” she said (via the _RealTalkWithtee’s Instagram account). “We’re also working on our strength and endurance. So most of the inside and outside will be 300, 400. But we’re just following what he planned for me. I hope. I’ll transfer it and work with my coach to get it done.”

Julian Alfred also won a silver medal in the 200m at the Parisio Games after finishing behind Gabby Thomas of the US, who posted 21.83 seconds.

The new national record set for February 2nd at the New Balance Grand Prix marked this year’s Olympian season opener race.
