The quiet luxury is dead. That refrain has already emerged as a strong theme for the fashion month, which launched last week at New York Fashion Week. Outside and off-the-runway clothing suggested that people longed for something more exquisite after years of fascination with calm clothing.
There were also healthy amounts of snake snakes and animal (mainly leopard) prints in winter black, gray, layers, outside the show. The most luxurious version may have been easily mistaken for nature, if not authentic. The same could not be said about the exaggerated silhouettes of models of certain ornate clothing on the runway (for example, large buggy coach pants, or fforme coats with elongated arms).
Another sign of the taste of the shift was the richness of the fur. Its heavier presence was more inevitable than in the past, when you consider how many people and brands dislike the materials. Some people who noticed the rise thought they were motivated by a trend beyond style. Now, wearing fur may be the last thing people are worried about, thinking that everything is going on in the world.
