Russia launched its jet at the South Asian nation’s airshow this week, and produced India’s fifth-generation stealth fighter jet and the most advanced fighter jet, the Sukhoi Su-57 and India’s most advanced fighter jet We offer.

A spokesman for the Russian arms exporter Rosboronexport said that in Bengaluru, where India holds the biennial Aero India Show, the fighter accepted a production offer from the Indian government this year. It says it could enter production.

The Russian SU-57 Fighter Jet was exhibited at the Aero India Show alongside the US 5th Generation Advanced F-35 Stealth Fighter Jet.

It was hovered at 600m after a rapid aviation ballet at the Indian Air Force Station in Ellahanka, a sight aimed at creating a sales pitch for Russian fighters run by Skoy’s chief test pilot Sergei Bogdan. The play, considered the Indian Air Show shortper, included the SU-57’s extreme angles, particularly the ability to be suspended in a 120-degree attack.

“It’s like making a five-ton fighter jet dance in the sky,” the Russian pilot told reporters.

In India, the Indian Air Force fleet already has 260 Russian Skoy SU-30 aircraft.

What is the SU-57 Russian fighter jet?

Designed with a “pixelized” camouflage color scheme, the Sukhoi Fighter Jet body comes with a mix of dark gray and black pixel colors, and experts are designed to add to their stealth capabilities.

According to Bogdan, the latest Russian fifth-generation fighter jet is the first Russian military aircraft to participate in actual combat without any development restrictions. Its stealth capabilities – the first feature of the Russian Air Force consists of a low signature design that minimizes the likelihood of detection by radar systems.

It can be developed to carry missiles and bombs in the cargo compartment and has major onboard defense facilities. The jet also features an internal weapons bay for pilots, providing flexible choice of long-range or short-range missile options in military engagement scenarios.

Bogdan argues that the agility of fighter jets could give them an advantage over American competitors F-35.

According to the manufacturer, serial production of aircraft began in 2022.

Serious questions about the SU-57’s capabilities

However, military experts have long been warned against the Russian SU-57 stealth fighter contract being carried out by Moscow. Despite being touted as a Russian fifth-generation fighter, the SU-57, comparable to its US equivalent, suffered from delays in development and crash in 2019.

In December 2019, one of the Russian Sukhoi SU-57 stealth fighters crashed in the Far East during a test flight, marking the first accident of this type involving a good plane.

According to military sources, the crash was caused by a failed pilot system, causing major losses to Russia as they attempted to sell fighter jets to allies. The collision caused the extradition of the plane that year delaying the extradition to the Russian Air Force.

According to a January 2023 British Ministry of Defense assessment, Russia’s risk aversive approach to using SU-57 was “symptomatic” of the broader approach to military war.

North Korea, Iran and Algeria are among the countries that have expressed interest in purchasing stealth fighter jets.

If India confirms its contract with Russia, Moscow could have a great boost to the defense industry, facing losses due to war efforts in Ukraine. Russia is bleeding further in its defense sector due to Western sanctions on war in Ukraine and related supply chain hurdles.

A source at Rozboronexoport said Russia would share fifth generation technology with India, Moscow’s biggest defence importer. These include fifth generation technology consisting of engines, active electronically scanned arrays (AESA) radars, optics, AI elements, software communication means, and air weapons.

India can produce these critical technologies without fear of sanctions, officials said.

India, the world’s largest arms importer, emphasizes the need to modernize its military and boost domestic defence production and counter China’s growing military and influence in South Asia.

However, the country has reduced the effectiveness of holding a military exhibition as it is not engraved on a critical defence contract at biennial air shows. Moscow can be filled with fighter jets.
