Iranian President Masuud Pezeshkian said Thursday that Tehran’s enemies could be able to hit the country’s nuclear centre, but they cannot take away their ability to build something new. He commented after the Washington Post reported that the US intelligence agency believes Israel is likely to launch a preemptive attack on Iran’s nuclear program by the middle of this year.
“They threaten us when they attack nuclear facilities… If you (the enemy) attack 100 people we can build 1000 other… you will hit a building or place You can, but you can’t hit the person who builds it,” Pezeschkian said, according to state media.
US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that Israel may have hit Iran on Monday that he likes to prevent Iran and its nuclear weapons.
“Everyone thinks Israel will bomb and bomb hell from them, with our help and approval. I would hope that doesn’t happen,” Trump said.
On Thursday, Iran’s traditional Air Force commander Hamid Vahedi said: “We, like all nations, friends and enemies, our nation’s doctrine is defensive, but we respond with strength to the enemy’s attacks.”
Iran and Israel engaged in a fierce blow last year amid tensions over Israeli war in Gaza.
