China’s Ministry of Transport (MOT) calls for efforts to promote the development of road and aviation cooperation standards in low-altitude transport and artificial intelligence (AI), highlighting these areas as key priorities for 2025. Masu.

The directive was issued during a meeting on Friday when a task allocation plan was approved to improve standards for the transportation industry from 2024 to 2027, according to a statement from MOT.

The ministry says measures must be taken to promote intelligent transport as part of the National Pilot Program for Service Standardization, which aims to make the country’s transportation industry smarter and more digital.

In recent years, China has been actively promoting low-altitude transport and logistics, with drones playing a key role in short-range, cross-region and urban delivery.

MOT data shows that around 2.7 million plots were distributed by drones across the country in 2024.

According to China’s low-altitude logistics development report released by the Linksum of Digital Industry Institute, the industry’s market size has expanded to 27.8 billion yuan (approximately USD 3.8 billion) in 2020 to 581.8 billion yuan in 2023. By 2025, it will be 12-150 billion yuan.
