In the global technology war, India moves to secure a supply chain and stocks important minerals

In a strategic response to fierce competitions on the ongoing global technology war and securing raw materials that are important for sector, the Federal Cabinet has approved the launch of a state critical mineral mission (NCMM) with a spending of 16,300 trillion on Wednesday. Approved the expected investment. 18,000 rupees by players in the public sector (PSU) and private sector.
This initiative aims to strengthen important mineral independence for the high technology industry, such as semiconductors, clean energy, defense, and artificial intelligence.
NCMM is designed to deal with the entire important mineral value chain, including important resources such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and rare earth elements.

The purpose of the mission is as follows.

Exploration enhancement: The mission promotes a wide range of important minerals on both land and offshore. First Truck Approval: Establish rational regulation processes to promote the approval of mining projects related to important minerals. Encourage search activities and mineral recovery from waste. Property resource: We are planning to develop important mineral strategic stockpiling in India to secure stable supply chains.

NCMM is a part of India’s widespread Atmanirbhar Bharat Initiative.
The center depends on the risk of national security and economic stability, and the center depends on the increase in exploration and mining activities (development and restrictions). We are making recent revisions of the law. In particular, the Indian geological survey has launched a large number of exploration projects for the purpose of identifying new mineral sediments.
NCMM encourages collaboration between public sector companies and private companies, and has acquired worldwide mineral assets. This strategy aims to strengthen trade relationships with countries with abundant resources, and at the same time enhance domestic production capabilities.
In addition, the establishment of an important mineral processing park and research center for mineral technology has been proposed to promote this sector innovation.
Recent government actions include the abolition of tariffs on most important minerals as part of the union budget from 2024 to 25 years. This movement is expected to promote more greater availability of these resources in India and promote industries to establish a processing facility in Japan.
In addition, strategic mineral blocks have begun, and significant participation from industry stakeholders has shown strong interest in the development of the Indian mining sector.

AI and semiconductor

Protecting important mineral supply chains is to navigate the extremely important semiconductor and AI competition at a global stage.
Important minerals such as gallium and germanium are essential for semiconductor manufacturing.
These materials are used in various electronic components, such as modern computing and transistors and diodes that are the basis of AI technology.
By developing the robust domestic supply of these minerals, India can reduce the dependence on imports from China, which controls many important mineral supply chains. This movement not only strengthens national security, but also stabilizes the production costs of semiconductor manufacturers.
The growth of AI technology also depends greatly on advanced semiconductor functions.
With the safe supply chain of important minerals, India enhances semiconductor manufacturing capacity and supports the development of AI hardware and software solutions.
