President Trump “The United States does not need Canada energy or cars.”

President Donald Trump gave a lecture with the world’s business leaders at the World Economic Forum, saying that the United States does not need Canada’s energy, cars and wood.

President Trump also stated that if neighboring countries chose to become the United States, it would be inevitable to impose tariffs, and suggested the possibility of imposing tariffs on the country.

“I can be in the state at any time. There is no budget deficit in the state. There is no need for tariffs,” he said at Davos’s venue.

President Trump threatened to impose up to 25 % tariffs on imports from Canada by February 1st.

Canada, who is dependent on trade, has a deep anxiety for a new threat of tariffs.

However, he said that the Trump administration would consider serious countermeasures, including “dollar -vs. dollars”.

Approximately 75% of Canadian exports head south. In contrast, Canada is the second largest trade partner after Mexico, but the proportion of US exports is much smaller.

President Trump said on Thursday’s remarks, “I’ve been very strict for many years.”

“We don’t need them to make a car, we make a lot of cars, we have our own forests so we don’t need their wood … We do not need oil and gas, we have more than anyone, “said Washington DC through video links.

President Trump has repeatedly claimed that Canada had a trade deficit of $ 200 billion and $ 25 billion. It is not clear where he got the number.

The trade deficit with Canada (expected to be $ 45 billion in 2024) is mainly brought by US energy demand.

The North American automotive industry also has a highly integrated supply chain.

Automotive parts may exceed the border between the United States, Mexico and Canada many times before the vehicle is ultimately assembled.

President Trump also stated that tariffs will be linked to border security and will impose tariffs unless Canada strengthens the security of the shared border.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has repeatedly stated that the case of tariffs is all on the table.

This includes taxes and input measures for energy exports to the United States, but some of the Canadian state leaders do not agree to this response.

The Prime Minister Todoro told the reporters on Thursday that Canadian goals are to completely avoid US tariffs, but if tariffs are imposed, they will reinforce “step -by -step” support for early elimination. 。

Canada is also a reliable trading partner for the United States, selling energy and important minerals, and working on US lawmakers to avoid tariffs.

Economics suggest that the United States depends on Canada products for energy security.

According to a recent analysis by TD Bank Economists, Canada’s Canada’s energy export has reached about $ 170 billion ($ 244 billion).

President Trump also stated on Thursday that companies should manufacture products in the United States if they want to avoid tariffs.

Credit is the center of President Trump’s economic vision, and customs duties are a way to grow the US economy, protect employment, and increase tax revenue.

The new President has ordered the Federal Authority to investigate the United States trade in unfair acts by April 1.

According to Davos’s economic editor Faisal Islam.
