FLORIDA, Jan. 19 (UNI) FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced Saturday that he met with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump in Florida to discuss future tournaments scheduled to be held in the United States.

Infantino said he and Trump discussed the Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June 15 to July 13, as well as the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico. That’s what it means.

“It was an honor to meet US President @realdonaldtrump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida ahead of the upcoming Inauguration. We discussed this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup and the 2026 FIFA World Cup Thank you, Mr. President, for supporting FIFA in the coming months. America welcomes the world, and football unites the world! ” Infantino said. Instagram (owned by Meta, banned in Russia as an extremist), attached a photo with President Trump.

Trump is a strong supporter of FIFA and the two major tournaments to be held in the United States over the next 18 months, the FIFA chief recalled.

President Trump’s inauguration will take place on January 20th in Washington. Earlier, the politician confirmed that he had ordered the inauguration to be moved indoors due to the cold weather, with the main part of the ceremony held in the Capitol Rotunda.
