Actor and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman on Wednesday shared a picture of himself playing Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the movie ‘Emergency’. The Kangana Ranaut-directed film is scheduled to release on January 17 after facing multiple delays due to pending CBFC certification.
In an Instagram post, Soman shared a picture of himself in ‘Emergency’ and said that he is “playing India’s greatest soldier, Field Marshal Sam Holmji Hramji Jamshedj Manekshaw”. I shared it.
“Urgent! The legendary story has come to life like never before,” Milind Soman wrote in a post.

Emergency movie release
The film was scheduled to be released in theaters on September 6, 2024, but the release date was postponed pending Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) approval. The film also sparked controversy as it was criticized for unfairly portraying the Sikh community.
“Emergency” delves into the 21-month Emergency that lasted from 1975 to 1977 during Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s era.
The film also stars Shreyas Talpade as young Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhary as Pupur Jayakar and the late Satish Kaushik as Jagjivan Ram. It is produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films.
