Proteins control and drive all the chemical reactions that are the basis of life. Proteins are generally made up of 20 different amino acids. These are connected in long strings that fold to form a three-dimensional structure. In 2020, Demis Hassabis and John Jumper introduced an AI model called AlphaFold2. With its help, they were able to predict the structure of virtually all known proteins. AlphaFold2 is widely used in many fields including pharmaceutical and environmental technology research.
