Nvidia is kicking off CES with a big keynote next week. I’m sure everyone knows at least one that will be announced.
CES 2025: 5 automotive trends to expect
It’s widely expected that Nvidia will lift the veil on its GeForce RTX 5000 series graphics cards when the PC hardware company takes the stage on January 6th. There are multiple reasons to believe this. One is that Nvidia’s graphics card business has helped its market value explode over the past year or so, thanks to AI deals with companies like OpenAI and Meta. Second, The Witcher IV’s recent reveal trailer directly states that it was “pre-rendered in Unreal Engine 5 on an unannounced Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU.”
According to at least one source, we may know when the first RTX 5000 series cards will be available to consumers. According to a now-deleted X post by Hong Kong outlet HKEPC (via Video Cardz), the first RTX 5000 cards could be launched around January 21st. This will be the RTX 5080, with 5070 and 5090 models expected to launch. According to PCGamesN, come back later.

According to PCGamesN, the new card is expected to be around 50% faster than the RTX 4090. It also includes GDDR7 RAM, giving the 5000 series cards much higher transfer speeds than previous cards. Another rumor that surfaced over the weekend ahead of Nvidia’s keynote appeared to reveal that the RTX 5090 will feature a whopping 32GB of GDDR7 memory, which is double the amount of the rumored 5080. . This is quite fast.

Given all the circumstantial evidence (plus the fact that Nvidia’s official GeForce This is just one source of information that could very well be wrong, but don’t be shocked if the official release date is sometime in January.
