In India, there are women who are role models for other girls, defying societal norms, forging their own path despite hardship, and creating stories that inspire young generations. The travel industry has traditionally been seen as an unconventional and uncomfortable field for women. However, Shashi Soni has broken this stereotype and proved it wrong. Today, she is the proud owner of a company worth Rs 4000 crore. Let’s dig into her success story.

A dream and just 10,000 rupees

Shashi started his journey with just Rs 10,000, the only savings he had at the time. It all started in 1971 when Shashi started a venture called ‘Deep Transport’ which was a successful business till 1975.

Chassi’s first 10 years in the business were a roller coaster of hardships. But after forming Mysore Oxygen Private Limited, her efforts started to pay off. After raking in our company’s profits from this business, she branched out into the technology field.

Entering the world of technology

In 2005, Shashi founded IZMO Limited, a company specializing in market solutions. Currently, IZMO provides high-tech automotive and electronic retail solutions to America, Europe, and Asia. It is also listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

women empowerment

Apart from his role in the business world, Shashi is deeply involved in social welfare through Deep Janseva Samiti. DJS focuses on women’s education, employment opportunities, pension systems, and care for people with disabilities. Her efforts have improved the lives of thousands of people.

Awards and recognition

Shashi has received several prestigious awards from the Government of India, including the Mahila Gaurav Puraskar Award in 1990. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2024. Beyond these achievements, she is also a member of the Management Committee of All India Industrial Gas Manufacturers. He joined the association and contributed to the Technical Development Directorate.
