Israeli AI company Run:ai has been fully acquired by NVIDIA. Run:ai creates software that improves the performance of AI hardware.

NVIDIA has made this application open source, suggesting that anyone can use it on non-NVIDIA hardware as well.

Run:ai plans to hire more people and give more people access to its tools. The company plans to make its AI hardware available to more individuals by releasing it as open source.

NVIDIA is an industry leader in AI hardware. The company’s best-selling product is data center chips. NVIDIA makes tens of billions of dollars every quarter. This acquisition adds new tools to the company’s hardware and software solutions.

Run:ai and NVIDIA have been working together since 2020. Run:ai was started in 2018 by Ronen Dar and Omri Geller. The startup’s main goal is to improve the capabilities of AI hardware. It will become part of the NVIDIA ecosystem in the future.

NVIDIA has not disclosed information about the deal. No official financial information has been disclosed, but the Israeli site previously claimed the deal was worth $700 million. This is NVIDIA’s second major investment in Israel, following the $7 billion acquisition of Mellanox Technologies in 2020.

Through the Run:ai integration, NVIDIA will be able to enhance its products and empower the global AI community with open source solutions. Additionally, by open sourcing Run:ai’s software, NVIDIA is making solutions that improve AI computing efficiency available to more users. Developers and organizations using non-NVIDIA hardware can also benefit from these possibilities. This improves AI performance and makes AI available to more people.
