Former Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro will become the new manager of Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, it was announced on Sunday.
The 2006 World Cup winner and Ballon d’Or winner had a brief stint at Udinese earlier this year, managing the team for just six games, before returning to management.
The 51-year-old previously served as interim manager of the Chinese national team and Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr.

“His charisma, championship history and hunger for success make him the ideal candidate. He knows the team, the league and the challenges ahead,” Dinamo said in a statement. said.
He replaces Nenad Bjelica, who was sacked after poor results in the Croatian Football League’s top flight, with the team currently in third place, seven points behind leaders Rijeka.
Cannavaro took charge of the team after the new year, and Dynamo were in 24th place, bottom of the play-off section, in their first match against Arsenal in the Champions League group stage on January 22nd.
