Walker Buehler’s wife, Mackenzie Buehler, shared several answers to questions from her followers on social media Sunday night. One follower asked about the nerve-wracking moment he saw Walker pop out of the bullpen to pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning to seal the deal with the Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series.
McKenzie provided exact details of her surroundings and emotions as she sat inside Yankee Stadium watching Buehler close out the LAD game. Here’s her response to a question on social media:
“When @ltlmills922 told me he was running out of there, I immediately started shaking and was holding back tears. Finley just fell asleep on me so @caramartinellsmith and @mktaylor808 It was really nice of you to be right behind me and help me calm down 🤍.

“Needless to say, I was very emotional. He had worked hard all season and it was special to see him come into his own, and I couldn’t have asked anyone other than my husband to… I don’t want you to end up in a situation like that.”

Buehler took the mound in the ninth inning against the Yankees and immediately struck out three batters (Volpe, Wells, Verdugo) and LAD won 7-6. Walker Buehler, who won his second World Series with the Dodgers, has signed a one-year, $21.05 million contract with the Red Sox for the 2025 MLB season.
His wife expressed her feelings about leaving Los Angeles and moving to Boston next year. In her response to a question on social media, she wrote:
“I have very mixed feelings. I’m very sad to be leaving our hometown and where Finley was, but I’m very excited for our next adventure in Boston and returning to the East Coast.”
