HYDERABAD: GHMC, in collaboration with NIT Warangal, plans to set up a cutting-edge technology center to address critical urban challenges such as traffic congestion and drainage management. This initiative aims to incorporate them into the planning phase itself to provide modern, practical and sustainable solutions.
The Center’s Traffic and Transportation Department will carry out detailed analysis of the city’s traffic patterns and transportation systems. We develop innovative and state-of-the-art solutions for traffic management, infrastructure optimization and transportation planning to meet the growing urban needs of Hyderabad.
The Drainage Information Center carries out a comprehensive survey of the entire drainage network of Hyderabad, including Nalas and stormwater. Detailed mapping, measurements and evaluations will be carried out, allowing the Center to propose professional and technical solutions to reduce flooding and increase drainage efficiency.
The proposed center will operate within the NIT campus and leverage the expertise of faculty and students. This initiative builds on NIT Warangal’s previous contributions, including providing project reports on transport and urban infrastructure issues. TNN
