AITA Championship: Telangana's Akshaya wins tennis title
Medal winners at the Tennis Championships held in Hyderabad on Sunday.

HYDERABAD: Telangana tennis player Akshaya Reddy Motati won the women’s singles title at the AITA Championship Series U-12 Boys and Girls Tennis Tournament held at Ashish Tennis Academy in Shamirpet, Hyderabad on Sunday.

In the final, they defeated their state mates Aswita Reddy Kankanara 6-3, 6-2 to win the title. In other matches, state player G Vishwak Reddy lost to Dhanush SM 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 in a hotly contested men’s final. Meanwhile, in the men’s doubles final, the duo of Dhanush and Vishwak defeated Kabilayati and Vedant Sahu 6-2, 7-5 to win the championship.

Results: U-12: Singles: Boys: Dhanush SM (KA) bt G Vishwak Reddy (TS) 6-4, 4-6, 7-5; Girls: Aksha Reddy Motati (TS) bt Awita Reddy Kankanara (TS) 6-3, 6-2. Doubles: Men: Dhanush SM (KA)/Vishwak Reddy G (TS) bt Kavilayati (TN)/Vedant Sahu (TS) 6-2, 7-5.
