Pakistan’s nuclear weapons: The US is plotting to target Pakistan’s nuclear weapons, former Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has claimed. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader made these sensational accusations after Richard Grenell, a special envoy to US President-elect Donald Trump, who is scheduled to take office on January 20, 2024, called for the release of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran. went. Mr Khan maintained that the charges against him were “false”.

Replying to Grenell’s statement on Imran Khan, Bilawal Bhutto asked why those who conspired against Pakistan were now voicing support for the jailed PTI founder.

“We must come together to stop the plots being hatched against Pakistan. We must put politics aside and think about our country and its defense.” Bilawal said this while addressing a rally to commemorate the 17th death anniversary of his mother, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Sindh province on Friday.

Bilawal Bhutto urged Imran Khan to clarify his stand on the US statement, asking why those who had previously expressed displeasure over Pakistan’s nuclear weapons were now raising concerns about the former prime minister. I asked him if he was making a statement and demanding his release.

The Pakistani leader was referring to Donald Trump’s comments during the presidential campaign in which he expressed concern about Pakistan’s growing nuclear weapons stockpile.

Bhutto claimed there was a “lobby group” in Islamabad that wanted a flexible government and was “ready to compromise on anything, including Pakistan’s nuclear program.”

Trump envoy praises Imran Khan

Bilawal’s comments came as Richard Grenell, who was nominated by US President-elect Donald Trump to be his special envoy, has publicly supported Imran Khan’s release and claimed that the current administration is imprisoning him on false charges. It was announced later.

In an interview with American news outlet Newsmax on Wednesday, Grenell spoke about the relationship between the United States and Pakistan under the former Trump administration, praising Imran Khan for his role in improving bilateral ties.

He noted that Khan’s background as a former cricketer and traditional political outsider aligns with Trump’s political outsider status, and that the two have a “very good relationship.”

“During the Trump administration, when a man named Imran Khan was the leader of Pakistan, relations with Pakistan were much better because Imran Khan was an outsider.
