Workers around the world are understandably anxious about their position in the labor market. Current geopolitical unrest, rising costs of living, the rapid evolution of generative AI in the workplace, and the growing need to prioritize sustainability in supply chains are all creating uncertainty. According to research by the World Economic Forum, the impact on employment is clear. And to remain competitive, employees must pay attention to improving their skills and adapting to changing job responsibilities.
But for some lucky employees, opportunities to improve their skill sets, try new tools, and grow along with their work are built into their company’s offerings. These employees tend to stay on the job longer, be more satisfied and engaged, but finding these companies isn’t always easy.

Now, to simplify that search, Forbes has released its 8th annual ranking of the world’s best employers for 2024.

To determine this list, Forbes collaborated with market research firm Statista to identify multinational companies that employ 1,000 or more people and operate in at least two of the world’s six continental regions. We surveyed more than 300,000 Group employees in more than 50 countries. (Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Caribbean, North America, Oceania). Respondents were asked whether they would recommend their company to family and friends and rate it based on criteria such as pay, talent development, and remote work options. Participants were also able to evaluate companies they had learned about through their own industry knowledge or through friends and family who had worked there.

Survey responses were analyzed and aggregated with data from the past three years, with an emphasis on more recent data and ratings from current employees. The number of winners per country varies depending on each region’s population and eligible companies, but 850 companies across 48 countries made the list. Shown below.

As with all Forbes lists, companies do not pay a fee to participate or be selected. Click here to learn more about how to create these lists. For questions regarding this list, please email listdesk (at) forbes.com.

*Erste Group Bank (tie 151st) was added after publication for additional information.
